Connecting Rockwell EtherNet/IP networks with Distributed I/O ET 200S through Molex EIP modules
EtherNet/IP is a network predominantly used for the communication of PLCs and components manufactured by Rockwell Automation with each other. At the same time, it is often desirable to include distributed I/O modules like the ET 200S as participants in the EtherNet/IP network.
The Molex EIP modules offer an interface which facilitates the connection of ET 200S modules with EtherNet/IP networks. To this end, the Molex Interface Module, which is connected to the Rockwell CPU by means of Ethernet, is employed as the interface module on an ET 200S rack.
The application example demonstrates the setup, installation and use of the Molex ET 200S EIP module with a CompactLogix L32E CPU. But in principle, the application can by used with any other CompactLogix Controller which is equipped with an EtherNet/IP interface.
