How can I remove a CD from a CD-ROM drive if the device has now been switched off?
Your PC has a CD-ROM drive or LS120 drive (for 120MB floppy disks). You can use the emergency ejection option to remove a data medium from the drive with the device switched off.
For this you need a metal rod several centimeters long and approx. 1.5mm in diameter. A bent-out paper clip is ideal.
Insert the metal rod (paper clip) in this small aperture until the rod touches the pushbutton then push the button gently with the rod. The drive then opens just so far that you can pull it out manually and remove the data medium. Then close the drive again by pushing it carefully back in.
