In accordance with IEC 61508, IEC61511, IEC 62061 and ISO 13849-1, failure probabilities in the form of a PFH/PFD value (Probability of Failure per Hour/ Probability of Failure on Demand) have to be indicated for safety functions.

This document is not independent; it may only be used as a supplement to the "SINUMERIK 828D / SINAMICS S120 Safety Integrated", "SINUMERIK 840D sl / SINAMICS S120 Safety Integrated", "SINAMICS S120 Safety Integrated" or "SINAMICS G120 Safety Integrated" Function Manuals.
The determination of the total PFH value of different safety functions in drive and control systems are illustrated using various examples.

You can find the actual PFH values in our "Safety Evaluation Tool" (SET):

In the attachment you can find the SET project with all the examples described in the document. The examples consider IEC62061 and ISO13849-1. After loading the project in SET the examples can be used as pattern for the design of safety projects with our drives and controls.
