Transforming warning and error messages of a SINAMICS drive with the aid of the XML parser and integrating them into a STEP 7 / HMI project
XML files with the possible warning and error messages of the respective drive are available for SINAMICS drives. These XML files that are supplied with the drive’s firmware also include these messages in plain text.
To allow easy and effective use of this information from the XML files, for example, for visualization, this XML data must be converted to a suitable file format.
The SINAMICS XML Parser converts the warning and error codes included in the XML files and the associated texts to spreadsheet CSV format. You can import the generated CSV file into a STEP 7 text library or directly display the warning and error messages in plain text on your HMI operator panel.
The SINAMICS XML Parser offers the following advantages:
- Easy to use:
Using the SINAMICS XML Parser is easy and intuitive.
- Variable use:
All XML files with warning and error messages of the SINAMICS drives can be read.
- Faster diagnostics:
Messages from SINAMICS drives are displayed in plain text, which allows you to respond faster.
- Multiple languages:
Warning and error messages in all languages can be combined in one file.
One of the following software packages must be installed on the PC:
- STEP7 V5.5 or higher
- TIA Portal V11 or higher
- SIMOTION Scout V4.1 or higher
- SINAMICS MICROMASTER Starter V4.1 or higher
Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 may be automatically installed, which requires Internet access.
