How do you import tags from the symbol table of an S7 program in WinCC?

  • Associated product(s)
Below are instructions for configuring the importing of an S7 symbol table in WinCC.

Instructions
Proceed as follows.

  • Open the S7 symbol table.
  • Via the menu item "Table > Export" you create an export file of the type "Assignment List" (*.SEQ).
  • Clean the *.seq file as follows (open with Notepad, for example): Delete all the lines in which you have declared no tags or DBs.
  • In the Graphics Designer you open the window of the "Dynamic Wizard".
  • The "Import S7 S5- ZULI" wizard is available under "Import Functions".
  • In the dialog that follows you define the Import file and the WinCC connection (see Fig. 1). You can drag-and-drop this from the WinCC Explorer into the "Dynamic Wizard" (Connection Properties).

Fig. 1: In the "Dynamic Wizard" you specify the name of the process connection.

Note 1
Please bear in mind that only the symbolic names for the DBs are assigned in the symbol table. In the symbol table there are no tags that you have declared in a DB. In this way the tags that are in a DB, cannot be imported to WinCC via the *.SEQ file. However, you can still enter the data manually.
You write the DB tags that you want to have imported as well directly under the declared DB. The wizard assigns all the data words under it to the DB before it until either a new DB is declared or an input/output or a marker comes.
