Dynamic setup of a connection between a VB object and a process variable

QUESTION:
How in a VB application can I set up a connection for a specific object to a WinLC process variable?

ANSWER:
In your program you can create an object of the type "S7 Number", for which a modifiable connection to various process variables can then be set up. The process variable whose value is to be determined (e.g. a marker byte) is written by the user in an input field during runtime. The program then sets up a connection from the "S7 Number Control" to this process variable and outputs its current value.

The download contains the program described above. The project has been created with Microsoft Visual Basic V6.0 SP4.

oper_and.exe

Copy the "oper_and.exe" file into a separate directory and then start the file with a double-click. The Visual Basic project then unpacks automatically with all the associated files. You can then use the Visual Basic to open and process the unpacked project.
