Description
It might happen that the SINEMA Server does not start and issues an error message or devices are not recognized in the network. The cause for this might be an incorrect firewall configuration.

Firewall settings
By default you must enable the ports in the list below. However, most ports can be changed through the Windows operating system or in the SINEMA Server.

Firewall between SINEMA Server and the network:

  • Port 80, TCP, http
  • Port 443, TCP, https
  • Port 161, UDP, SNMP
  • Port 162, UDP, SNMP Traps
  • Port 25, TCP, SMTP

Firewall between SINEMA Server and a client:

  • Port 80, TCP, http
  • Port 443, TCP, https

Firewall between SINEMA Server and an HMI/OPC client:

  • Port 80, TCP, http
  • Port 443, TCP, https
  • Port 4840, TCP, OPC UA

Note
If you change the ports (for example, http from Port 80 to Port 8080) in the SINEMA Server, then you must also change your firewall rules.

Security notes
Siemens offers products and solutions with industrial security functions which support the secure operation of plants, solutions, machines, devices and/or networks.
