SINAMICS S120: OA-Applikation VIBX (Vibration Extinction)
For a stacker crane, mast oscillation is excited when accelerating and braking. The throughput and storage capacity/storage height are restricted as a result of this mast oscillation. Not only this, a reinforced mechanical design is required as a result of this mast oscillation.
The SINAMICS Technology Extension "Vibration extinction" (VIBX, vibration extinction) is an extension for the SERVO and VECTOR drive objects. The Technology Extension for SINAMICS S120, SINAMICS S150 and for SINAMICS Integrated – in versions SIMOTION D4x5-2 and SINUMERIK 840D sl – can be extended from SINAMICS firmware V4.4 and higher.
VIBX significantly reduces mast oscillation when accelerating and decelerating, which means that it is adequately stationary in a verifiable shorter time. As a consequence, a stacker crane can handle more goods in the same time period.

A setpoint filter is implemented in the Technology Extension. The objective of the axis setpoint filter to change the setpoint of an axis so that there is as little oscillation as possible excited in the natural frequency range of the moving mechanical components.
Two application modes are supported:
- Application mode "Basic positioner (EPos) and position control (LR)".
The setpoint filter acts between the EPos and position controller (LR) function modules. The position setpoint and velocity setpoint are filtered between the output of EPos and the input to the position controller (LR).
- "Dynamic Servo Control (DSC)" application mode
The setpoint filter acts between the PROFIdrive receive telegram for DSC and the DSC controller. Process data XERR and NSOLL_B are filtered before they are used in the DSC controller.
The filter characteristics can be set using the frequency and the damping (attenuation).
Via a connector input, in operation, the filter frequency can be linearly changed between two extreme values. This means that the filter frequency can be tracked to follow the changing natural frequency of a mechanical system (e.g. as a result of different load states) (online frequency change).
