If a motor with DRIVE-CLiQ is replaced by a motor with different MLFB, then a topology difference is detected that must be acknowledged.

Question
How do I proceed if I replace a motor with the same electrical properties (converter data) by a motor with different Article No. (MLFB), and alarm 201420 "Topology: comparison of a component different" is displayed. The topology display indicates a difference relating to the SMI.

Answer

NOTE:
The converter parameters are not changed when acknowledging the topology. This means that the electrical values of the motors and encoders must be the same. Otherwise, additional converter setting data must be adapted.

SINAMICS S120

  1. Connect the drive system with the STARTER commissioning tool. 
  2. Open the expert list, select access level Expert (3).
  3. Set p0009 (device commissioning filter) =1
  4. Set p9905 (device specialization) =2 in order to accept the MLFB change
  5. Set p0009 (device commissioning filter) back to = 0.
  6. Copy RAM to ROM to permanently save the data.
  7. If required, reference the encoder to the machine position
  8. If required, adapt the safety parameters (see adapting SINAMICS safety)

 

SINUMERIK sl

  1. Set the manufacturer password.
  2. Open the Control Unit parameters: Commissioning>Machine data>Control Unit parameters
  3. Select the Control Unit that is connected with the replaced motor.
  4. Set p0009 (device commissioning filter) =1
  5. Set p9905 (device specialization) =2 in order to accept the MLFB change
  6. Set p0009 (device commissioning filter) back to = 0
  7. Press "Save" to permanently save the change
  8. If required, adjust the absolute encoder (see absolute encoder adjustment)
  9. If required, adapt the safety parameters (see adapting 840D sl safety or 828D safety)

Absolute encoder adjustment SINUMERIK sl (referencing)

  1. under axis MD, select the replaced axis
  2. MD34200= 0 (referencing mode)
  3. MD34210=0
  4. Back up the drive data and carry out a power on reset
  5. MD34100= noted axis position (reference point) 
  6. MD34210=1 (absolute encoder adjustment)

Reset at the machine control panel, and in the JOG mode, traversing key, traverse in the + direction (when successful, MD34210 must change to 2)

Adapting SAFETY 828D / SINAMICS CU320 (with Starter) 

  1. Click in the start screen of the safety functions on the Acknowledge hardware replacement button.
  2. Faults F01650/F30650 are output, acceptance test required: Function test, actual value sensing
    • General check of the actual value sensing:
      After replacing the component, first switch on and operate briefly by traversing in both directions.
    • Check the safety-related actual value sensing:
      With the motion monitoring functions active, traverse the drive briefly in both directions.
  3. Back up all parameters to the memory card (p0977 = 1)
  4. Carry out a POWER ON (power off/on) for all components

Adapting SAFETY SINUMERIK 840D sl 

  1. Alarm 27035  "Axis %1 new HW component, acknowledgement and function test required" is output
  2. Under alarms > press the "Acknowledge SI HW" button
  3. Acceptance test required: Function test, actual value sensing
    • General check of the actual value sensing:
      After replacing the component, first switch on and operate briefly by traversing in both directions.
    • Check the safety-related actual value sensing:
      With the motion monitoring functions active, traverse the drive briefly in both directions.
    • Document the new checksum value in SAFE_ACT_CHECK- SUM[1] or r9728[2] and the last entry in the change history in MD SAFE_CONFIG_CHANGE_DATE[0]
    • Document the hardware and software version data of the new component
