The MM440 and MM430 inverters were designed to use an input from either a PTC or a KTY84 temperature sensing device. The KTY84 is slowly becoming obsolete as a motor temperature sensing device. The PT1000 has been adopted as a replacement.

For most applications the 2-wire method is adequate to start and stop the inverter. The 3-wire control allows the inverter to be started and stopped directly with a press of a switch. This method is setup by using BiCo technology.
