Hi all,

I have a 319-3 PN/DP, running IO via the X3 profinet port

System is connected to a SCADA system.

We have a few instances where it would appear the X3 port just locks up and comms is lost from the PLC to all other components on the network.  All network swtiches and SCADA PCs remain connected to the netwrok and look active

Status of the PLC shows a BF3 light flashing, with normal power and run lights on

The X3 port has solid green and yellow.

To get out of this situation, the profinet cable is removed (either from the PLC or the switch it is connected to) and re-insert, causing the comms to re-establish and system to be operational again.

Has any one else had an occurance like this, or suggestions as to why it would appear to lock up?

Unfortunately I hadnt connected a laptop to the PLC via DP/MPI prior to re-establishing comms to check the buffer
