IPC277D as WinCC explorer Client

jebril Posts: 27 Rating: (1)	Dear Experts, We are creating a new SCADA System to control airfield lights with multiple users. The runtime software will be WinCC explorer V7.0 SP3 and protcol is Ethernet. We would like to use the panel PC IPC277D as one WinCC client instead of normal Desktop PC. The Questions are: Is that applicable (Panel PC as WinCC client)?? can we run the WinCC runtime on the panel PC? can the operator control the project as other clients with normal PC? I'm little bit confused because in the IPC confiurator, I can add the WinCC runtime (example:6AV7881-4AA00-4BF0) thats mean -for me- that I can run the WinCC on the panel PC without problems. But when looking on the compatiblity tool you will find that WinCC V7.0 is incompatible with any panel PC (IPC's) Please Help!

But the main question is: If the IPC is prepared with os which is compatible with WinCC V7.0 SP3, in that case can I install the runtime so simple? or there is somthing more to do than that?? I'm ready forany further qustions guys Thx

Hello jebril, you can find the available operating systems for IPC277D at Siemens Industry Mall. Select "Configurators" and start the configurator to see which operating systems are possible. To verify what operating systems are compatible with your WinCC version you can check incompatibility toolat www.siemens.com/kompatool. First select your WinCC and service-pack version and continue to next step. In second step you can select the operating system in the product tree at the left of your browser-window. Select "all versions" for the os to get all available compatible os versions with your wincc version from step 1. And finally, keep in mind the hardware requirements of your software. To get a rough feeling about this see section "Optional operating systems" at http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/de/63033297. regards, xnor

Finally I would like to ask a question which its answer could close the case: According to the compatiblity list of WinCC , the version 7.0 SP3 is compatible with windows XP profissional. so the question is: if I order theIPC 277Dwith that OS , can I install the runtime on it?
