Panel 677B migration from XP to W7 or W8

PCBuctot Posts: 24 Rating: (3)	Hi all, We have around 10 Panel 677B 19" installed in our plant and all of these panels run on Windows XP sp 3. The software we use is WinCC v7. Now that the support for Windows XP is nearing its end, we are planning/considering to migrate/upgrade the OS to windows 7 (or 8 if WinCC v7 is already compatible to it). My question is, do we need to buy our own licenses of W7 or W8 in order for our upgrade or will Siemens provide assistance doing the upgrade (with OS installer designed specifically for panel PCs)? The Panel 677B are only installed recently (around 3 years only) and currently, we have no plans on replacing them. Maybe someone can help me with our migration plan from windows XP. Thank you! Unfortunately your 677B is older. If you want to use such an OS anyway, you can try to install it and see if it is working. Another way to deal with the end of the support of Windows XP is to use some kind of white-listing software. This software prevents the execution of all unknown files.
