data logging while controlling motor

t_chan123 Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to continue controlling a motor with STARTER even when I switch to another program/application. At the moment, the motor control stops functioning when i switch to an oscilloscope program to log waveforms. I can only assume that there is some sort of safety mechanism in place. I'd be grateful if someone could let me know about an override command that i could use. I am trying to avoid using 2 separate computers for controlling the motor drive and logging waveforms from an oscilloscope.

The "motor will stop if you change the application" is an safety feature in the starter. An alternative way to move the motor is the functionality "fixed value". With this funktion you can use fixed values to move the drive. Regards Christoph

KenM Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	If all you want to do is use the trace function while controlling the drive via the control panel. 1) Open the control panel and assume control. 2) Setup your trace and then start tracing. 3) Control the axis via the control panel. If you switch to another tap such as symbols the control panel will still drop out.
