Can I run a dahlander motor using a sinamics G120? If so, what would be the connection?

Usually 2-speed motor implies two variants of connection.

• full speed and full HP(KWt);
• half speed and half HP(Kwt);
• due to lack of information hope you have a constant torque motor;
• face plate of the motor is your helper.
  

So you need to select full speed/full HP connection. In this way you'll be able to slow the motor down from its max torque to its min torque.

In case of half speed/HP variant connected, you have to run youre VFD over 60Hz, probably you'll get needed speed. However, you can catch such phenomenon like field weakening. In other words you'll lose torque.

As concerned G120. Use Starter->Configuration->Wizard ->... and so forth.

One more variant, you can use contactor and two DDS (Drive Data Set of G120) for switching between motor windings, thus you'll be able to run motor at full speed and half speed variants with winding reconnection via contactor. However, you won't be able to switch between windings while Drive is running due to this can cause damage of VFD. In other words you must stop VFD, then do switching between windings, then do start. The switching between DDS implies stopping VFD automatically.

P.S. DDS (Drive Data set). It's VFD software feature that includes full setting for specified motor/winding. As example, in youre case you can program DDS1 -set for full speed/HP, DDS2 -set for half speed/HP, due to different features of windings.

If I got you correctly.

The DDS implies itself: Setpoints, Setpoints processing, Motor control; Motor and inverter protection;

In other words you can process setpoint within scopes of DDS/motor winding.

So, for DDS 0 you can select full speed connection and write in Wizard rated motor speed (p311), which is written on motor name plate. The reference speed setpoint (p2000) is calculated automatically for corresponding DDS.

For DDS 1 you can select half speed winding connection and write in Wizard rated motor speed (p311) for that winding connection. The reference speed setpoint (p2000) is calculated automatically for corresponding DDS.

P.S. As concerned external speed reference you need switch between CDSs (e.g. between two AI).
