Dear Forum Members, Even after the most minimal setup of a blank project, one PC station, one screen, log says:
Restarting runtime or simulation or PC changed nothing. The message spews every second so it dirties the TraceViewer. For debugging we can indeed Filter > Subsystem > ScriptFW but occasionally I turn off the filter and the trace has gone too big that TraceViewer crashed. So we must not forget to periodically clear traces. Is this a normal trace? Am I missing some basic configuration to prevent this message? Version: V19 Upd3 |

Hi Darf, I also noticed the "Long running command detected" message a lot. However, most of the time this was only in the startup process, and once the runtime was running, it did not come up again. But to be honest, reading the traces is something that requires more information to analyze, and that should be done by Siemens engineers. So you might consider creating a support request for this topic. Kind regards |

Dear Stefan, Glad I'm not the only one experiencing. I'll ask support only when my highMentalStress alarm is triggered. Thank you for answering. |

I have the same issue -V19U3 aswell, though its on my engineering pc which I'm using only when I need to simulate rt so it doesn't bother me much. |

Hello, I wanted to check if there are any updates on the issue. I'm also experiencing the same problem when running the WinCC Unified PC RT in simulation mode. The exact warning message is as follows: Long running command detected. Execution time: 788048 milliseconds. Command: "sequence: CThread, command: class HmiShd::CThreadCommandLambda" |

Hi, Since no one has posted a note that this problem has been reported to Siemens, I would not expect a fix for this problem. However, to me it is just an unnecessary trace message that seems to have no impact on the system. It is annoying to me, but not a problem. However, we can wait for the upcoming V20 release to see if it has already been addressed by development. Kind regards |

Hi Hadwll2, The "Long running command detected" message itself does not tell you much. If it is caused by an internal process, it needs to be addressed by development. But it can also be caused by a user-created script. Having less memory will affect the runtime of some commands, so that can be a reason for getting this message. Kind regards |
