I tried to establish a connection to the IoT2050 via Ethernet from my Laptop. Sadly, everytime i connect the LAN Cable to my Laptop, it disconnects my WLAN and i got no access to the Internet no more. Further i dont get a connection to the IoT2050 via PuTTY. I tried everything but it wont let me go onto it. Do i need to connect the Gateway directly to my Laptop or can i connect them both to a Router/Switch? And which RJ45 Port do i use? I hope u guys can help me a bit Ring regards

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/11/2024 Posts: 3345 Rating: (379)	Hi, this seems to be some enterprise "rule" that on your PC only one interface can be used. That would explain why the WiFi is down when plugging the Ethernet cable. But in this case at least the connection to your IOT2050 shall then work. Which IP address does your PC has on the port connected to the IOT2050? The IOT2050 has 192.168.200.1 at X1P2 by default. There is no need for a direct connection, a switch or router can also be used. If you want your IOT2050 to get an IP address via DHCP from your router, you need to connect X1P1 to your router, this interface is set to DHCP by default. Best regards!

That should work in theory. On my Laptop i got VPN to the Siemens Network, so i got 2 IP Adresses, which shown below. The Problem is, that i get an connection timeout every single time. Also i cant ping the device via cmd prompt. STAT Led is on at rebott but goes off with time. Maybe the IoT is not in the same subnet? Attachment IPADRESS.JPG (1113 Downloads)

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/11/2024 Posts: 3345 Rating: (379)	Hi, as I said the port X1P1 is set to DHCP by default, so you need to connect X1P1 to your router. Then it gets an IP address assigned from the router in the subnet 192.168.0.x. You can find out the exact IP address which was assigned by accessing your routers webserver and check the connected devices. For connecting to X1P2, your computer needs an IP address in the 192.168.200.x subnet. Because the X1P2 is set to 192.168.200.1 by default. Best regards!

Changed the range of DHCP from 192.168.200.2 to 192.168.200.255. I've tried the two ports but in my router the IoT2050 seems not to appear. i constantly tried to ping the static ip but nothing. "Zielhost ist nicht verfügbar" Funny thing is: The RJ45 status LED blinks all the time. So there must be some kind of connection. I've also put the newest Firmware onto the SD Card. I don't know what i should do anymore now. Tried almost everything. Maybe im going to the office tomorrow and try to connect the IoT Gateway to a display port and see whats happens Best regards!

Do you have an IOT2050 Advanced (with eMMc) or Basic? When did you order the device? If it is an Advanced and ordered in May then the Industrial OS is pre-installed. This would explain why the STAT LED is not blinking, but not why there is no output when a display is connected.. Do you use a DP monitor or an DP-HDMI adapter? Best regards!

I got the professional version und and tried it without sd card at the beginning. It didnt work so i put an image on a sd card but still nothing. Tried 2 different images too. For the DP PART I tried with an hdmi adapter, because i got no DP Monitor at home My advisor ordered it in may so it should has an OS on it

bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 11/11/2024 Posts: 3345 Rating: (379)	Hi, okay, now it makes sense and I can explain the behavior: There is the Industrial OS pre-installed - internal eMMc is set at first boot device by default Plugging in an SD card with the Example Image on it does not work, because the IOT2050 still boots from the internal eMMc You cannot access it via putty, because during the first boot of the Industrial OS you need to configure the IP addresses at first The IP default addresses I explained to you are valid only for the Example Image, not the Industrial OS There is no monitor output, because you need a direct connection to a DP monitor OR an active DP-HDMI adapter You now have two options: Use a DP monitor or an active adapter Establish a serial connection with putty using a UART cable (e.g this) Best regards!
