I have problem  :

I have to work with  CPU 414-5h  (6ES7414-5HM06-0AB0)( central  unit for  S7-400H and S7 400F/FH) and my software in Server PC(and Redundancy) is PCS7 7.0  so this Version of PCS7 cant find  CPU 414-5h and so I cant Configure HW  ( I have 3 Client system )

PCS7 V7.0 is older than the mentioned CPU.

PCS7 V7.0 released from 2006 if I remember well while CPU (6ES7 414-5HM06-0AB0) released on 4/5/2012.

You can check the modules released for PCS7 V7.0 from here:

You can found the mentioned CPU starting from PCS7 V8.0.

as Ayman already said PCS 7 does not know your CPU.

Only thing is to use engineer a predecessor CPU that is available in PCS 7 V7.0 so I thing it should be the 414-4H. Choose that one where all the interfaces of the CPU fit to your real 414-5H.

So you can use new CPU while engineering an older one. This works due to spare part compatibility.

Maybe you can not use some of the features of the 414-5H but in general you can use all features a 414-4H has.

Do you mean that if configured CPU as 414-4H and insert 414-5H that it will work?

If that what you meant, I am sure it will not work.

414-5H is not a direct sucessor to 414-4H CPUs.

The best scenarios is one of the folloings:

• Get old CPUs released for your version of PCS7 and ensure that both H-CPUs have same part number and firmware versions.
• Upgrade the PCS7 package to latest version and in this case, it will support using CPU 414-5H.

Indeed this was what I wanted to say.

I am sorry if this will not work. I allways thought that the new product is compatible to the old one to be used as spare part.

But then there has to be a successor of 414-4H, what is this?

Yes with this version you can not.

Is the CPU rack mounted at the factory and tested?
