I have a problem installing HMI Panel Image Updater V2.0 under windows 11.

I run the installation as administrator and there seams that there are no problems but the application does not show up.

I run the installation again from power shell to she what messages pop up. The image shows power shell in x86 mode but it is the same in x64.

Am I missing any packets to install?

Thank You for your replay.

I read some forum posts about the issue and they boil down to the same, meaning if the app doesn't work copy the images manually.

But i didn't see a single post that is trying to fix the app installation problems.

v1.0 and v1.1 had problems with logging in to SiePortal because Siemens keeps changing the login process. But they at least install properly.

v1.1 installs ok you just cant login any more. The installer for v2.0 detects it and aborts the installation prompting you to uninstall the older version so I guess it isn't completely inept.

So for now the general consensus on the forum seems to be “hiding the head in the sand” and “just do it manually” witch defeats the purpose of the app.

I suspect the installation problems were caused by a Windows update. The fact that the PIU hasn't been mentioned in a while, yet the problems are increasing, suggests this.

However, an increasing number of forum posts does not prompt action on the development site. The only way to trigger action is to submit a support request.

I am preparing a V21 virtual machine with an up-to-date Windows installation. I might try PIU just to test the installation, even though I will probably never need it. If I'm facing the same issue, I will go the regular way to get development informed.

I installed PIU on my V21 virtual machine running Windows 11 Enterprise 25H2 (Build 26200.7309). I did not encounter any problems during installation or execution. Therefore, this does not appear to be a general issue.
