MODB4H with 2 networks: MODBUS TCP/IP redundancy

sserna Posts: 3 Rating: (1)	Following a suggestion form a user, I post here this question (it is also open in the"Communication/Networks" forum... sorry for the duplicity) I need to communicate with several motor relaysusing Modbus TCP/IP. In the relays I can only configure one IP address and one port (502, the standard). I would like to use MODB4H (I am using a S7400H system), but according to all the manuals I have checked, it is not possible to configure in Netpro the same device twice with the same IP and Port properties. Is it possible to add a second ethernet network in Netpro, and connect each CP of the redundant configuration to a different network, and still use MODB4H? If so, I could configure each motor two times in Netpro, connecting the same motor (the two instances of the same motor)to the two different networks. Then I could use the same IP/Port valuesr. All examples in the manuals for MODB4H always use the same network for bothCP cards....

gusbarron Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Kaulquappe, I too have a similar setup and creating two networks and dual 'Other Stations' with the same IP addresses does enable both CP cards to communicate when it's respective 4H CPU is active but I also have a redundant WinCC SCADA server pair - what's the best way to keep Netpro happy with a S7 fault tolerant connection from both PLCs to both SCADA servers? Right now it's warning me that 'The local partner is no longer connected to the original subnet' - is this going to cause issues when I recompile my OS?
