Hi All, I am new to manufacturing and attempting to explore using OPC UA programs through python-based client. I'm hoping to get more information for preventative maintenance purposes. I have read in the manual attached (SINUMERIK 840D sl NC variable and interface signals) that DB1002.DBDn holds information surrounding the spindle temperature sensors. However, I do not understand how it all comes together in an address. Specifically on page 1380 and similar instances of variable "n" on pages 1378 and 1384. For example, I think that reading DB1002.DBD04.0 should give me temperature sensor actual value in Celsius for spindle 1 sensor 1. DB1002.DBW24.0 should give the temperature sensor actual value in Celsius for spindle 1 sensor 2. Or, if looking for ALM active alarms, DB1002.DBW0.7? The syntax used, eg. "DBWn+0", confuses me. Is anyone familiar with finding this information or can tell me how to properly address a spindle temp sensor or byte mapped with the above syntax? |

It takes a bit of searching to find the relevant manuals, but they usually reference other sources of information as needed. For this issue, see the section of the axes and spindles function manual at https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/109801259/145387418635. This is for the 840DSL control, but it is similar for Sinumerik One. All manuals are available at https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/us/en/view/109766201 Steve_A |
