Hi, The disadvantage of PTT is that they are not really synchronizable. Only once when you create the instances via the IEA. For each PTT you can delete the instances assigned to them (via properties of the type). You can do this safely. Another possibility is that you convert the PTT to CMT. CMT's are the new concept which work a lot better than PTT. You have actual synchronization, so if it's possible, I would suggest to create CMT's and start using them in the project. When you do an upgrade, you upgrade the MDL with the newest blocks. When the MDL is updated, than you can synchronize the projects with the MDL. You know which blocks are updated and what the effect will be. It's also possible to create a new MDL and set the old MDL as library (you can have only one MDL in the project). This way you can start from fresh with a new MDL, but also can use the old MDL as source to update blocks. It depends what you want to upgrade.

Hello G_R_E_Y_31 Yes... you can safely delete the old-version PTT templates from the MDL without impacting your existing PTT instances, because they are already independent CFC charts
You’ll need to perform intermediate upgrades from PCS 7 V8.x to V8.2, then to V9.x, and follow the guidelines in the manual "Process Control System PCS 7 – Software Update with Utilization of New Functions V9.1" to transition to V9.1 before finally upgrading to V10.0 UC0x or V10.0 SP1. Hope this helps! |
