When using chart in chart, when inserting a block in the parent chart, how to set the timing of the function block inserted by the parent block after the last block of the child chart

• In the child chart, make sure the last block (e.g., 689) is really last in its Execution Control order.
• Add a Chart Output (Chart → Chart I/Os)—name it e.g. Child_Done.
• Wire the last block’s output (e.g., 689.Q) to Child_Done. Save/Compile the child.
• Go back to the parent chart and update the child chart interface so the new output pin appears.
• Insert your new block in the parent chart.
• Connect the child chart’s output pin (Child_Done) to the new block’s input.
• Open Chart → Execution Control in the parent chart.
• Set the execution number (ENo) of the new block greater than the child chart block’s ENo (or move it after the child chart block).
• Verify both are in the intended runtime group/cycle.
• Compile/Download and watch online to confirm the new block runs after the child completes.

Hi,

The Chart-in-chart block cannot be set to a runtime group. The runtime editor assigns the blocks inside the chart in chart just like the other blocks in the parent CFC. You can set however a predecessor when right clicking a block and select: "Predecessor for Insertion Position". If you do this inside the chart-in-chart, the next block inserted in the parent CFC, will be placed behind the block in the chart-in-chart.

You can also open the runtime editor and right click on the CFC and select: "Optimize Groups/Tasks". Then the whole chart will be assigned automatically in the correct order based on interconnections.

 I followed the method you said, tested in offline mode, and by optimizing the runtime timing I was able to achieve the functionality I wanted. I'll try again if I can do this online。

 AS the quote before this post,  I have not find the solution ONLINE  MODE。

I will test in next weeks， then i will post the result after  I have test ON LINE mode
