I need assistance in getting a SIMOVERT VC masterdrive to operate from a S7-200 PLC using the USS Protocol from the USS library. I can read values out of the drive so I know my communications are operational. I have 2 questions I have been unable to find an answer on, they are as follows:

Using the USS_CTRL command to control the drive I get a drive response successful reply in-spite of the drive not doing anything. When I look at the r001 status it shows an 8 which should mean that start is inhibited. I think that somewhere I have something wrong in my drive setup settings/parameters but I cannot find any list of baseline parameters to set the drive to. Basically,the command I am sending out is replying kosher despite the obvious that it didn't do anything and I cannot figure out why, so any insight on that would be of great assistance.

Second question is using the USS library in the S7-200 I cannot send out a default command message or word I must assign an address to use any of these pre-built commands. Does anyone know how I can send a default control word to the drive or what address that it needs to be assigned to?

I am posing this is the drive and the PLC forum to increase visibility.
