Can I connect WinCC directly on a DP-slave device?

dchartier Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 9/27/2006 Last visit: 1/16/2026 Posts: 12481 Rating: (2722)	Hello Jaappie; In WinCC V.5.0 and V.6 projects, by installing a CP5611 in the WinCC PCand using the Profibus Channel, WinCC could become master to any number of slaves on the bus. It would poll them directly, and the tags created in that communication channel would be updated cyclically from the bus. The Online Help for this channel will give you a good amount of details on what is required to set it up. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

In WinCC we used the Profibus-DP.chn and we configured a DP-slave with theslave adres. Then we inserted tags into the channel. But now communication. I willread the channel's help file as you suggested, Hope I can find anything. Any ideas? Jaap
