This is more than likely an easy fix. I have an encoder with 360ppr. When it reaches 359/360 is loads in 0 again. It is for a press so a full cycle. I have written some code so when pulses = 360 load in 0/start new cv on HSC. The problem is the compare doesn't read fast enough and the count is all over the place. 

What would be the best solution to this problem?

I have left my laptop at work so can't upload program yet.

 What is your hardware, firmware version and TIA version?

It is incremental encoder, 360PPR. How is it resetting to zero? Did you configure the counter that way or do you have a "Z" pulse connected?

If you are using a "Z" pulse, you can configure a hardware interrupt on rising edge and change the counter value in the interrupt.

Or you can configure a hardware interrupt for CV=RV and reset the counter in that interrupt.

Or you can let it count indefinitely and let it rollover at max value and do your stuff, whatever it is, without resetting the counter at all; but only you know what the objective is.
