I am using wincc explorer 7.4 sp1 along with S7-414H redundant system. currently i set the ip address as 192.168.1.98 in the connection parameter tcp/ip of wincc.

192.168.1.98 is the IP address of my primary CPU and 192.168.1.99 is the ip address of the secondary cpu set in my S7-414H system. when cpu with ip address 192.168.1.98 in running as a master then at that time communication is ok. but when i stop the cpu with ip address 192.168.1.98 then the cpu with ip address 192.168.1.99 becomes master and communication between wincc and S7-414H system becomes unhealthy.

Ultimately i want to establish wincc communication with S7-414H redundant system. currently my wincc is able to communicate with S7-414H single cpu (i.e. 192.168.1.98) only.

Thanks for your prompt response.

I just read the manual and what i understand is i need to use CP1613 for that. but in my case i have not considered the same yet. can you suggest any possible way without using any additional hardware or software. because the system is reached at site and we did not considered that software during bidding. so now it is difficult to add any new software or hardware which can affect the price. if named connection can be done without any other major modification then can you please provide any reference. because have never configured that.

Fault-tolerant S7 connections are available only for CP1613 and CP1623. It is not possible to use standard network cards in this case.
