comms between 2 CPU226 and 2 TP177A

mcw63 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi, I am trying to set up PLC-PLC comms between 2 CPU226 (each with their own TP177A). What is the best way to do this? Currently the system is in two parts, each TP177A is connected to its CPU226. I understand i will need a "complex" Multi-master PPI network. My end goal is to have information such as start/stop/speed data transferred between PLCs, and the two OPs to talk to their respective CPUs. To achive this, will i need to purchase EM277 for each CPU, and how do i configure this communication?

erblaha Posts: 37 Rating: (1)	You can communicate though seperate ports. Use Port 1 to communicate to the TP177B and the Port 0 to communicate to the other 226 PLC.

mcw63 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Thanks, So this would be PPI communications, using an RS-485 cable (with piggy pack connectors for programming) as per S7-200 manual wiring diagram in CH7 networking? or is this profibus cable? are these the same?Sorry i am not familiar with the communications options of Siemens.
