I was using win 10 pro ver. 1706, after that I upgraded to 20H2.

Now, I installed wincc v7. 5 sp1 with update5, it works good now.

I designed project by wincc v7. 3, now i have wincc v7. 5. When I copied the old project and just past it to my new comp, and open it by 7.5 it opened without probelm, i confused, why we do migration if this way is ok? Is it nessassry?

Ofcourse, I changed the new comp name as same as my old comp name thats why i didnot have server error message

 Old-New topic, I would like to add the question:

Why do we have to convert project data? What process is behind it? I understood from the first post that the project was working well even without converting data. So, where is the catch?

Hello ahmed2yousef,

yes, if you have a project of version V7.2 or newer,
a "migration" to a newer version is not needed.
But you should "convert" the projectdata.
In the WinCC-Explorer via "Tools"/"Convert Project Data".
This converts pictures, scripts a.s.o. to the new version.
It works only if the Servername in the project is
correct, and the project is not in runtime.
