Unless the firmware revision is declared acceptable by thr hardware of your module, you cannot always install it.

But in this case, you do not need a firmware update.  The IM 153-2BA10 is a direct successor to tje IM 153-2BA02. See the attached screenshot

This means you can use the IM 153-2BA10 in place of the old IM 153-2BA02., without changing the hardware configuration. Successor products are compatible with the original modules they replace.
