Hello all,

We bought a new DC converter 6RA8018-6DV62-0AA0 and I in no way can make it running. Fault 60104(2)

Converter must work just as regulated power supply for bunch of small permanent magnet motors without speed feedback. I tried to configure as field supply by this manual.

Real power supply of converter power board for testing is 1 isolated phase 110V 50Hz, so "Selecting operation on a single-phase line supply with p51799 = 1" , no power contactor. There I see one problem - In Starter >Armature control>Power unit online I see only 55V, but the same supply connected to unused field circuit show 110V.

p50078=55V (tried 110V - result the same)

p50351= -90%

p50352=90%

p50353=45Hz (default)

p50354=65Hz(default)

When I'm trying to switch ON the converter after line voltage detection time  I'm receiving fault 60104(2)

As I understand 2 means Undervoltage. So what is wrong there? What else I missing?

Some updates:

Tried to restore converter to factory default settings. It was new unused unit, so this should not change anything. Tried this trough Starter - Starter crashed :) Finally restored to factory settings, uploaded all project back and IT STARTED TO WORK !!! :)

Only voltage of supply is shown twice lover than in real, output voltage - correct.

Update II: If there is something connected to output - I'm receiving fault 60004(2), circuit phase failure detected, r50047[1]=0, r50047[2]=0.731

So what is wrong with this converter?

6RA8018-6DV62-0AA0 - operating voltage is 400 V AC.

If user want to connect 1 phase 110 V AC, needs to procure option L04 for extra low voltage. Please refer SINAMICS DCM DC converters, Operating Instructions, Firmware Version V1.5 manual topic 2 table 2-4

Thank you for the reply. I do not understand how this L04 option can help me? It is for extra low supply voltage 10-50V. In my case supply is 110V, only diagnostic show 55V. Maybe there is some wrong span?

BTW I tested on 1 phase 220V - result the same - converter work without load only. Tried inductive load, active load, active-inductive load. Result - fault 60004(2). Later I will try test it on 3 phases 220V or even 400V

OK. But please share your feedback here, after you conduct test.

Connected converter to 3 phases - all work fine. So it does not matter that in specification converters can be used on 1 phase supply - in fact in does not. Or maybe it needs some more tweaks than specified in documentation.

So for me there left to make 3 phases supply and find out how to correctly control output voltage instead of current.
