Cyclic Script

henno2000 Posts: 177 Rating: (0)	Hi, I have created a script that executes every minute which compares values of tags that have been imported into WinCC via an OPC link. This tags then raise alarms depending on their values. This works OK. What I am now wanting to do is to log how many times the alarm bit has been triggered within the script. Initially, I tried using the following command: return (SetTagBit("C220_WARN",1)) && SetTagWord("C220_WARN_COUNT",GetTagWord("C220_WARN_COUNT")+1); but because the script is cyclic, the count value would increment every minute even though the status has not changed. Is there anyway to record the number of times the tag has been triggered and still leave the trigger cycle to a cyclic event? Regards, henno2000

(Because of the fact that the script executes every minute, if the alarm status was still a '1', the counter would just increment every minute even though the alarm had just been constant and not changed state) Regards, henno2000

Suggestion: Change trigger for your action from "Timer" to "Variable"; As variable, put in your "MY_OPC_WARNING_TAG" variable......(or more of such variables...) Action will now be triggered every time, when your variable (MY_OPC_WARNING_TAG)is changed. Then you can easiliy achieve your goal.... Have fun! uel123

I am still not sure, if I understand your question properly. Let me try: - Youread some tags (from OPC channell,...), with script action, which is called every minute. - If those values are such, that you must raise an alarm, you do it so. - Now you want to count the number of raised alarms. I believe, you must create a soft "Positive edge detection": - create a new internal tag, for a previous state of trigger - in script action, make a simple compare between current and previous states of trigger; if previous was 0 and current is 1, you must increment your counter. - do not forget to save your current trigger state as previous state of trigger, for next iteration (next call of your script action).
