S7-1200 - Problem with ProfiBus Network

This is my first time I approach the topic of the ProfiBus network from the programmer's point of view, so I have a slight problem with it. In my project I have a CPU 1214C DC / DC / DC and a PB Slave CM 1242-5 module, with which I have to connect to a master in another project (not mine). On the other side is the ET-200SP along with the master module. The programmer expects a GSD file and a map of registers from me. Unfortunately, I don't know how to go about it. I am asking for urgent help.

mopS04 Posts: 5521 Rating: (1058)	hi Matthias, Profibus GSD file can be found here: Download GSD File CM 1242-5 The operation manual of the module can be found here: Operating Instructions CM 1242-5 When projecting this module you need to set transfer areas, which are the IOs from this slave. What it output on your side is input on the master. and this needs to suit the slots. So when you have 10 bytes input on the CM1242-5, the master needs to have 10 Bytes Output on the first slot. hope this helps, regards,

Therefore, following FAQ may be helpful. Indeed, there is another hardware used, but the basic function/principle is the same. How to you connect the communication module CM 1542-5 or the communications processor CP 1542-5 as I slave in STEP 7 V5.x to an S7-300/S7-400 CPU? maybe this helps regards sancruz
