Installation trouble PCS7 v7 sp1 on existing WinXP sp3

RJM Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Help, I am trying to install PCS7 V7 SP1 on my existing laptop (XP SP3). Things go fine up until the first WinCC installation when a message indicates that a Microsoft security patch is missing. I downloaded this patch and attempted to install it but it will not install because SP3 does not require it… What is the next move?

umencho Diamond Member Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 3/30/2025 Posts: 10239 Rating: (1183)	Hello Problem of WinCC is SP3 of Windows. See compatibility of WinCC. v 6.x and WinCC V7.x. Uninstall SP3 of Windows and try again. Better make new installation of Windows with SP2. regards

You can also see here some "advices" to make installation of WinCC into SP3.Just put Windows XP3 in search field here. But I don't know after that, will WinCC work properly in your case. Maybe in the future this will be solved, I hope. Siemens or Microsoft will find some solution for this. regards and have a nice holidays

RJM Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	Update: I deceided not to shoot at all. Instead I fell beck to sp2 and installed the XP security fix WinCC wanted and installed PCS7 with no trouble. But, now the License Manager service will not start. Getting closer.

Urahara Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	WinCC can be installed on SP3. I have done it twice. All you have to do is to make an entry in the registry. I have forgotten the exact place for the registry. You can find it by using google. Write the error in the google as below mentioned " Error Message" All you have to do is to enter the error with quotes in google and the very first result will tell you how.
