Hi dear Siemens Experts,

I have a problem in a system which consists in:

• Engineering Station
• Server
• Thin Client 1 (For accessing WinCC Runtime through WebNavigator)
• Thin Client 2 (For accessing WinCC Runtime through WebNavigator)

All the machines listed above working with Windows Server 2019 Standard and WinCC 7.5.2.7  (same version of WinCC WebNavigator).

The problem is that the WinCC AlarmControl doesn’t work properly (the dialog configuration is displayed incomplete, and the selection dialog is not even displayed when you click on it) depending on the machine I’m accessing Server runtime from. So, I list below the different casuistry (always with the same WinCC user and authorisation levels):

• If I access Server runtime from Engineering Station: No problem.
• If I access Server runtime from Server to Server (locally): No problem.
• If I access Server runtime from any of the thin clients: Doesn’t work properly.

Does anyone know if there’s any WinCC AlarmControl configuration that concerns this behaviour? As far as I know there isn’t any configuration to make the WinCC AlarmControl behave this way. Please, any help or idea will be appreciated.

do you realy use Webnavigator? or do you use WebUX?

(Its because if you use Thin Clients with Webnavigator Cient access then you need a Terminalserver. A direct Webnavigator Access with a Thin Client is not possible I think...)

Its because in WebUX there is still less functionaliy as in real Clients.

If you work with Webnavigator then try with the webclient on a PC based System with internet explorer or WinCCViewerRT.exe .

First of all, sorry for the late response, I'm struggling to fix adding topics to favorites and activating notifications. Besides, I didn’t find out the problem until two days ago, when I realised update 8 (for Service Pack 2) had already been released, so just in case I read the release notes for Update 8.

They (Siemens) specify the problem has been solved in Page 32, see the image attached (SP2 Updates url).

Regarding your comment: Yes, you are right, I was accessing through Terminal Server, sorry for the mistake. I was getting mad because AlamControl configuration and selection dialog were working properly when accessing through WebNavigator from Server to EI (and vice versa), so I dismissed that the problem was about WinCC WebNavigator (WinCCViewerRT didn’t work either).

I haven’t tryied the Update 8 yet, but hopefully it will fix this, as they say on the PDF. I will leave a comment when tested.

Hi Syzmon siemens,

the easiest way to add topics, users or conferences as favorites is to click the star and then the bell icon. You can also favorite a topic if you reply to it. To do this, click on the checkbox "add to favorites / notifications". Attached you will find a screenshot for visual representation.
