While there is downward compatibility for the respective PC Runtime software licence version and the Power Tags of the respective PC Runtime licence can be increased with a Powerpack, a PC Runtime licence can only be used for your own PC Runtime software.

For example, it is not possible to use a SIMATIC WinCC Professional RT licence for a SIMATIC WinCC Advanced RT or SIMATIC WinCC Unified RT and vice versa.

Furthermore, unlike WinCC Engineering licences, the individual PC Runtime variants (Advanced, Unified, Professional) cannot be upgraded via Powerpacks, e.g. a SIMATIC WinCC Advanced RT licence to the SIMATIC WinCC Unified RT or SIMATIC WinCC Professional RT variant and vice versa.

If a different PC runtime software is required, a licence matching the software must be purchased.
