Hi guys,

I would like to purchase a license for the STEP 7 software, so that i can programme a SIEMENS PLC in the SCL language. I am new to the automation industry, so could you please help me with the software package i need to purchase to accomplish my task ?

Which STEP 7 packages support SCL programming ?

Could you please provide the licenses available, along with their prices ? (I live in India)

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello, i think you just need to purchase TIA portal V17 there you can program Siemens PLC with LAD, FBD, STL, SCL program languages.

I still have a couple of doubts...

1. I am only interested in programming a PLC, i have no interest in the HMI. So is there a licence just for the STEP 7 software ?
2. There are 2 packages, the basic one and the professional one. Does STEP 7 Basic support SCL programming ? Or should i get the STEP 7 Proffessional package ?

 Step7 Basiv v17 supports only 1200 series PLC's and basic HMI panels. Step7 Professional V17 supports 1200, 1500, 300 and 400 series PLC's + basic HMI panels. So depending on the PLC you need to use, Basic license is ok if you only need to use 1200 series. If you need 1500, 300 or 400 series PLC's, then you need Professional license.
