Thanks for this very informative answer. But how the PA instrument is configured in this setup? Do you need to configure the PA devices one by one before you connect to the DP/PA coupler (and how)? Can they all be configured in a remote location after networking them?

Sorry, I did not pay enough attention to the part number you were providing, in my first reply.

Unfortunately, what you have is not a DP/PA link, but a DP/PA coupler (Ex version, with limited power for Ex zones...):

A coupler allows PA instruments to connect directly (with their own GSD file for Profibus-PA) to the DP network (through the coupler), with the caveat that the DP network will not work above 45,45 kB. The whole network will have to be brought down to that speed.

A DP/PA link is a construct, with an IM 153-2 head (as shown in the TIA Portal setup screen you saw earler, with a number of DP/PA couplers (up to 5) heading their own PA network. The IM 153-2 allows the DP bus to operate at its customary speed (up to 12 MB) while the couplers handle the PA communications with the instruments at their own low speeds (PA speed is 31,35 kB, due to FISCO limitations).

To use a DP/PA link you need to build a GSD file that includes information from all PA instruments attached. For a coupler you do not, you only need the GSD file for each PA instrument, integrated in the Profibus configurator.
