WinCC v7.2 License Error - PCSCH Simatic WinCC PO USB Dongle

TravisDOF Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I have PCS7 v8 project with 9 OS client HMIs with WinCC v7.2 UPD 8. The hard drive failed on one of the OS client HMI computers. I have restored a Symantec back up image and the operating system (Windows 7 Pro) is working properly. But when I open the WinCC project, or start the runtime, I get the errors attached. It is looking for license PCS7CH - Simatic WinCC PO USB Dongle. Siemens support indicates this is a license required for ASIA language, and requires a physical USB Dongle, but there no ASIA language in the project - including the Text Library. The other OS clients use the same reference project and there are no problems. I've restored multiple backup images with the same result. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling WinCC, and SQL Server, but it still asks for this license. Please help! Thank you. Attachment error.PNG (667 Downloads)

bg2492 Posts: 7298 Rating: (2188)	Hello TravisDOF, the criteria for needing the USB-Dongle is not only, that you have no ASIA-language in the Textlibrary. Other points are The runtime language of the user interface (GUI) and the language (Local ID) of the operating system. See help of WinCC. Close your project then reopen it. enjoy.
