Is there a way to read the inputs and write to the outputs of a G120X drive with S7-1212 CPU? I want to be able to read/write all digital and analog I/O with my CPU. Basically treat Drive as distributed I/O. Is SinaPara a good way to do that? If so, what telegram do I use? I am using Profinet communication. Any answers will be appreciated.

yes, there should be a way to read and hopefully to write the I/Os. Since SinaPara is doing asynchronous communication, I would not recommend this. Except, you can deal with the higher latency. For a fast exchange of the I/O signals, I would recommend using telegrams.

I did similar with a S120. There I used the telegram 390 which contains the information of the I/Os. Unfortunately - as far as I know - this telegram is not available at a G120. So you have to use the free telegram configuration. You can connect the free transmit PZD with parameter r722 to transfer the DI state and r752 for your analog inputs.

Since I have never done this with an G120, I can't really tell you, how to write your outputs. You have to change the parameters p730…p732, p738…p742 and p771, but I don't know how. I hope one of the drive exerts can help you.

Hi Jack0004 and Stefan Arcularius, I did exactly that (Speed control via SinaSpeed) on a previous project and that works pretty good. However, using this method only gives me speed control of my drive and not much else. Because it only uses telegram 1, I don't have enough "space" for more data exchange.  I also want to moniter motor current, motor voltage, etc.

As Stefan Arcularius mentioned, the G120X does not have telegram 390. See attached. How do I connect the free transmit PDZ with parameter xxx?  It would be nice if I could import those inputs into my project and use them as a PLC tag. Similar to the way you can with SIRIUS soft starters

p730-p732 do not have CPU as an option for signal source. p738-p742 are not available on G120X. See attached.
