Logging of Data

Abby.A Member Joined: 7/29/2022 Last visit: 11/18/2025 Posts: 4 Rating: (1)	Hi, I am working on a project that requires data logging. I am using the S7 1200 PLC and KTP400 BASIC HMI panel. Can anyone advise me on the best way to Log the data in a CSV file? My initial plan was to Log it through the Web Server feature of the PLC but I am not sure if I will need to connect my PLC to the internet to be able to do that (I would like to avoid connecting the PLC to the Internet). I will appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Abby

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/15/2026 Posts: 16638 Rating: (1944)	Hello Abby.A you need a KTP400 Basic 2nd Generation for the logging functionality a 1st Generation cannot do logging. the second thing is that the limits of logging in the Panel are relativliy low, only 10000 entries per log (LINK).
