WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 to TIA Portal V13 Migration

Will7991 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hello, New to PLCs and need to migrate WinCC Flexible 2008 SP3 graphics to TIA Portal V13 but get an error stating that the "HmiEs" are corrupt and need Siemens support. I have successfully migrated other graphics before but I don't understand what this means. Is there a way to resolve this issue? The graphics can be opened on Step 7 V5.5 and opened on WinCC Flexible but just won't migrate. Any help is appreciated. Thanks, Will Attachment MicrosoftTeams-image.png (412 Downloads)

Hazard_7 Bronze Member Joined: 5/30/2022 Last visit: 1/7/2026 Posts: 634 Rating: (103)	Hi Will7991, I recommend that you follow the procedure below: - Opened the Step7-Project in the SIMATIC Manager - Opened the WinCC-flexible-project with WinCC flexible - Generating the project - Copy from Step7 - Starting TIA Portal - Migrate the newly copied HMI-Standalone-project - Simulate the project => if there are errors in any object or animation -> Delete this animation

(perhaps the WinCC flex. Project is damaged ) Or try to migrate the project to WinCC flexible 2008 Sp5 and then to TIA perhaps this way works for you Bye Murof

Will7991 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hello Hazard, Quick question. This error occurs when I try to migrate a project with two separate HMI projects connected to the main Step 7 project. Is there a way to generate and make a copy of the entire project like you said to do before? It worked on the last project because there was only one HMI graphic project. Tia portal just tells me that V13 doesn’t support the older MP and TP panels so the migrations just fail immediately. How else am I supposed to upgrade the HMI if it doesn’t even allow the project to migrate? Quite stumped with this. Thanks again, Will

The following panels can be migrated to TIA PORTAL V14, which is your panel model? Please attach an image of the error you are getting so that we can help you.

Will7991 Posts: 15 Rating: (0)	Hi Hazard, So I copied the project and archived it. I am not sure if I made the copy correctly though. When I highlighted the main Step 7 project I didn't see any option in the "File" dropdown to make a copy. Is this where I should be looking? Or should I make a copy of the exact Step 7 file? I made a copy of the folder the step 7 project was in and archived it. Resulted in the same error saying the HmiEs are corrupt. Thanks for your help, Wilson

This should als work properly. you can try to do a Save as with reorganisation to organise and check the project. Bye Murof
