I was offered a HMI TP900.  I was wondering what possibilities the comfort TP could give me compared to a KTP.  I saw that there was Windows integrated.  What could I use it for?  Do you have real examples of an HMI TP where a large part of its capacity is used?

as u can see, basically the HMIs are meet requirements, either KTP (basic HMI) and TP (comfort panel). In my experience I'd say basic HMI reasonably priced while Comfort which has more features.

Two key advantages of the Comfort Panel range:

1. Manipulation and processing of data is possible through custom scripting (coding).
   
   
2. Creation of faceplates makes it possible to create a generic page that can be reused to display (for example) devices of the same type. The elements in the page is filled in as the individual situation requires it.

In short, the Comfort Panels are better at visualizing installations that has many components. The Basic Panels are best for a function cell.

 But what are the additional functions that the TP can offer that the KTPs do not have other than the cost?

comme vous pouvez le voir, les IHM répondent essentiellement aux exigences, soit KTP (IHM de base) et TP (panneau de confort). D'après mon expérience, je dirais IHM de base à un prix raisonnable tandis que Comfort a plus de fonctionnalités.

 Normal TPs can do this too.  We know how to make scripts in VBA and the faceplate is present there too.  So I don't see my big differences between the two Windows apartments that have been added 😕

Aha.. so you are not comparing Comfort Panels with Basic Panels. Perhaps mention the part numbers that you are asking about.

'TP' designates a touch panel while 'KTP' is keypad and touch panel. 'KP' is keypad only. 

Some panels have a Microsoft Windows loaded while others have a Linux based operating system. The Linux based one is suppose to be cheaper for its less licensing cost.

That's just the difference, one is on linux and the other is under widows? For a price twice as expensive it is a little abused...

Siemens pricing works that an older model that has a follow up product is priced more. Which products are you comparing?

Talk to your local Siemens representative. Have them explain why.
