As you found out, if you want to have redundant I/O the only module you can use is the ET200 SP HA. 

In the following overview, you can find all Profinet modules with their functionality. As you can see, the ET200 SP HA has the following advantages:

• PA ready
• Redundant I/O configuration
• Profinet CiR (Configuration in Run)
• High precision time stamping

PA ready basically means that I/O modules have unlimited use without restrictions especially needed in Process Automation. There is a special icon to indicate this and is compromised of the following:

• Support system redundancy S2
• Support Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP)
• Configuration in Run

Dear All Experts

I want to propose a control system for an petrochemical plant. The requirement is fully redundant system and two separate cpu for DCS and ESD.

Usually I propose 410 AS for processing and ET200M series for IO distribution for both DCS and ESD. Since ET200M is going to be discontinued soon, what ET200 family can I use to replace ET200M?

As I searched, it seems that ET200SP HA, is the only family that I can use for this scenario. It seems that ET200SP HA, is the only family with redundant interface also.

To sum up, can I use s7-410 AS with ET200SP HA, to implement PCS7 for my project? Is there any disadvantage compared to ET200M?

I appreciate if anyone can confirm this this.

Also I am looking for a manual of how implementing the profinet for IO distribution.
