Does anybody know if IOT2050 can be used to communicate throught the DLMS/COSEM protocol (for example to communicate directly with an energy meter)?

Hi, 

to be honest I have never heard of this protocol. But I found a python library for it: https://www.dlms.dev/. 

At first you need to install pip on the IOT2050

apt install python3-pip

Then you can install the python module: 

pip3 install dlms-cosem

What physics is needed for this protocol?

 Thanks for the answer. I use DLMS for communicate with an energy meter. I can do it throught RS232 or RS485. It's used by electrical companys (I think even in some countries is mandatory).
