For our machines we have installed the KP400 Comfort.

From Siemens we got the information that this HMI will not be produced anymore.

They came with the MTP700 as alternative. But I don't think this is not a worthy successor.

It is terrible to migrate the KP400 to the MTP700. It takes a lot of time.

Also this screen doesn't seem very rough environment proof. The display is glass.

It is also not resistive but capacitive. The operators of our machines wear gloves.

Is there a good alternative for the screen? I don't like how Siemens decide just to not produce this screen anymore without bringing a good alternative.

I agree with you. Not all process wants an only touch screen. I do understand why Siemens wants us to use the Unified system, as it is cheaper for them to produce.

This users' forum is however not the right place to voice concerns. You will need to speak to Siemens directly. Though you can use the "Support Request" link, speaking to the local representative may be better.

Try to find it in the mall, it is not available.

When you contact Siemens they tell you they stopped production of this panel because of chip unavailability.

It is not my goal to voice a concern, I was hoping another user had an idea of which way to go. Because from Siemens themselves I get no good solution.
