We want to configure S71517H PLC with ET200MP IM 155-5 PN HF (6ES7 155-5AA00-0AC0). In our configuration we use 6 numbers of IM 155-5 PN HF. We want to configure MRP ring for the configuration as follow- PLC 1 -> IM1 -> IM2 -> IM3 -> IM4 -> IM5 -> IM6 -> PLC 2 ->PLC1 We are using NAP S2 Supported devices for this configuration. We want to connect fiber optic connection between two different IM. we do not want to connect profinet cable between two different Area (IM's). Please suggest us how we can achieve the configuration using Fiber optic cable connection. Please help us for configuration.

Use two Media Converters SCALANCE X101-1 in each of these two areas.

Connect short Profinet cables between IMs and Media converter and in between use FO cable.

one more question on it... can we have ring ring of NAP S2 supported Fiber Optic Scalance and then connect IM to switch in Line. Is there any switch which we can use and reduce cost for solution.

You have many solutions in this network,

1st Solutions:

Without using IE switches, you can connect to every IM from the previous node and to the next node to close the ring.

For the remote IM, you will use Media converters as descriped before.

2nd. Solution, If you used IE switch with FO ports for the whole system, It will not be a ring.
