typical tests can be check if connection is still ok because many things can change during session. This can be the problematic situation. Maybe disconnect and reconnect can solve problem but real reason can be maybe discovered by check of outputs of block - DONE,ERROR, STATUS or other actual what are accessible. Help to library is then recommended for next remedy of problems.

No ERROR shows up, and the STATUS remains 16#7004, so it should be working if I read the instructions of the SIEMENS MQTT manual..

 Hello Mate!

I was doing some tests with MQTT and maybe it can help you. In my setup I am using mosquitto as the MQTT Broker (it's free and you can download here), and MQTT Explorer (it's free and you can download here) to publish some data and read on PLCSimAdvanced with all three running in my computer. 

I really suggest you to first try to use the MQTT Explorer to try to connect and subscribe to your Raspberry to check if your settings there are correct.

Just playing with this two tools I checked that i was only able to connect to mosquitto using "localhost" on MQTT Explorer and not by IP Address, then I fixed this including this on my configuration file of mosquitto:

listener 1883 allow_anonymous true

After this I was able to connect and see the topics on MQTT Explorer, soo lets start playing with the Siemens side.

My computer IP Address: 192.168.0.106
My PLCSim IP Address: 192.168.0.105

First of all you should configure correctly the parameter connParam:

hwId = 0 (then it detects what interface to use)
connId = something different from 0 and can not be already in use (in my example is 16#003)

ipAddress.ADDR[1] = 16#C0 (192)

ipAddress.ADDR[2] = 16#A8 (168)

ipAddress.ADDR[3] = 16#00 (0)

ipAddress.ADDR[3] = 16#6A (106)

port = 1883 

keepAlive = something greater than 0 (I put 7 in the example)

clientidentifier = "clientPLC" (you can decide what name to use)

mqttTopic = "testtopic" (here you put the name of the topic that you configured)

I get some errors like 16#80C6, 16#80C5 and they was only related to my network cards. In the end I was getting the error 16#8730, then reading the manual for the block on page 14 I discovered that i should put something on willtopic parameter to make the MQTT Client block works. After this when I set the enable bit my status went to 16#7004 (what means that it was succesfully connected). Then now you just need to subscribe to the topic that was set on mqttTopic parameter by means of a pulse on subscribe input of the block and everything is working.

You can see attached that I published "abc" on MQTT Explorer and received on receivedMsgPayload[] the values 16#61, 16#62, 16#63 because here the data comes as ASCII.

I configured the network card like you and also got the 80C6 error.

I changed to the following configuration and everything works fine.

          computer: 192.168.0.95,   plcsimVir: 192.168.80.195, PLC: 192.168.80.80

                                                                MQTT: 192.168.80.195

Because of the array, PublicMsgLenth & willMsgLenth must >0.
