Tech Ahmed Experienced Member Joined: 1/16/2012 Last visit: 6/30/2025 Posts: 127 Rating: (2)	Dear Experts, I have made one toggle button on the HMI screen and currently using it only as an internal tag for some functions in the global script. Can I trigger this button from the PLC as well ? The PLC part is done but needs your support on the HMI part. For example, now the operators are selecting or deselecting this button whenever they want but the new requirement is to select the same button with one bit from the PLC with some logic as well. I have created the logic and the output is M9.7 (1sec pulse). The toggle button needs to be turned ON when M9.7 has R_TRIG and should remain ON until the operator decides to turn it OFF. Please find the attached snap. There is a property "Tag Assignment -> toggle Bit (Umschaltbit)" here you can set directly a boolean Tag on it. If you click on the Element in Runtime the bit will change, if you cahnge the bit from PLC then also the element in Runtime will change. If you want to do something in WinCC I would use the Event Property topics-> Tag Assignment-> Umschalt Bit -> Change then it whould work in both situations (manual control in Runtime and from PLC) Bye Murof

Currently, an internal tag "weight_check" is configured in the "Tag assignment --> Toggle Bit ---> Dynamic Dialog --> Data type: Analog / Valid range: Other / Toggle Bit: 0 " is selected and it is working fine. If I just convert this internal tag to a connection tag and assign an M9.7 address? It will work? or I would need to add a script in --- Events --> Property Topics --> Tag Assignment ---? Toggle Bit ---> Change? Please guide me. I have taken the object from the Library --> Operations --> Toggle Buttons --> On_Off_1. Please find the attached file. After attaching a tag it is working with the PLC bit but does not allow the operator to deactivate it. Is there any possibility that the toggle button gets activated with one shot (with R_trig) pulse only and keeps it activated ? and allow the operator to deactivate it at any time? and vice versa? Requirement is: 1- Toggle button activation: through PLC OR through operator click (need both options) 2- Toggle button de-activation: through PLC OR through operator click (need both options) Best regards Tech Ahmed

Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/19/2026 Posts: 16644 Rating: (1944)	Hello Tech Ahmed I testet it in a quick try -> use the toggle switch out of the libraty and only set an internally wincc boolean tag to the Tag Assignment Property (dynamic -> Tag). I used the boolean tag also in an IO field next to the button. In Rutnime I can click on the toggle button or change value in the IO field. Both changes both values (IO Field and Button) without problems. Bye Murof
