creating limits on Tags is quite clear and very similar to Comfort and Basic panels, but what I'd like to ask is if there is any way, how can I show the limit values besides the I/O field? I mean for example showing the limits in a little tooltip bubble above the respective I/O field or somewhere in the keyboard area.

currently I am using WinCC unified version 17.

It can be for sure done by the script, but this script must be used within every IO field. It would be quite OK, if I can use the value of min and max limit for the tag, which is connected to the IO field's process value. In this case the code of the script could remain the same in all IO fields. If it is not possible to do it, it means i have to have special script for every single IO field and it seems to me little bit crazy.

Yes, it is also possible, but currently I have the problem on the very low level. I'm not able to see the tooltip by IO field at all.

Even with the static text configured without dynamization (see picture) there is no tooltip visible. And moreover the IO field is overlaid with the onscreen keyboard, so the operator will not be able to check, what he had already entered.

finally I realized the function using faceplate instead of only IO field. This solution has number of disadvantages:

• Every faceplate must be connected to the process value and two limit values, since I did not find the way how to use configured range of HMI tag for gathering limit values inside the faceplate.
• In case you are using limit values not from PLC tag, but as constant value you have to change it always in two places (in HMI tag's range and than also in the faceplate interface). This is very easy to forget in the future. As an option I see stop using range of HMI tags at all and give the limitation feature to the faceplate completely.
• I am not able to set the output format of the IO field from the interface of faceplate, what is problem since I have to be able set at least the different physical units and number of decimal places. (I assume this is only any kind of my bug - I tried to use property interface of faceplate, but had probably any bug, because output format is not changing). Anyway even if it will be functional, you are not able to see the final format of the IO field in the design time, what can be again from my point of view quite annoing.

And finally the last nail in the unified coffin. There are some places on the screen, where you cannot place the IO field (or my new IO faceplate) at all, since it is overlaid with the mega big onscreen keyboard, when activated. So the user is not able check my limits above the IO fields, is not able to check even what he had already entered and eventually correct it. I tried to find how to change it (change the position or layout of onscreen keyboard), but did not find any solution.

I am just looking for any update on this topic.... Isn't here someone who is able to give me an advice, how can I access the limit values of any HMI tag in the script?

I mean if I set the constant Lower 2 and Upper 2 limits for any tag, I want to get the values of these limits in the runtime script in order to show it somewhere.

I checked the HMITag object description and there is no property nor method to get these information. Don't you have any idea, where can I find these value if it is even possible?
